HP students, staff & parents pledge to #MakeaChange in 2023

The enormity of the climate and ecological crisis makes some of us think that we can't possibly make a difference. And yes, switching off a light isn't going to solve the problem. But we have to start somewhere and as the #UrgentOptimism of the global Earthshot Prize shows, there are many countries, organisations and individuals starting to move our societies in the right direction.

Pledges are being collected here on Firefly where you can choose from a number of suggestions, each linked to one of the Earthshot categories. Or you can make your own pledge or add further details. There is also an option to submit a photo showing your pledge in action later in the year.

The pledges and these photos will be used to celebrate everything we are doing as a community to #MakeaChange in 2023.

So what individual changes can you make? And crucially how can you encourage others to do similar? How can you make your voice heard and influence those with the power to make big decisions with wider impacts?
