International Culture Day - Wednesday 8 March 2023
WOW, we what fun we had today celebrating our 2nd International Culture Day! Following our amazing celebrations last year, we felt lots of positivity, enjoyed learning from each other's culture including celebrating great music, vibrant colours, food and dances! Huge thanks to all who participated and helped to organise the day :-)
Big thanks also goes to Sharmane Barrett, co-author of Our World My Roots book series who led an informative culture focused discussion session with some of our year 7's in the library.
Thank you to our sixth former Jaida for leading the resources about International Women's Day which falls every year on this date. We must all try to #embraceequity.
What is the theme of International Women's Day 2023
This year's International Women's Day theme is embracing equity.
Embracing equity requires a shift in thinking and a commitment to taking concrete actions. This can include: Educating ourselves and others about the impact of systemic inequalities and the role we can play in addressing them. Challenging our own biases and preconceived notions, and working to create a more inclusive and respectful environment.
