Tim Campbell MBE - Winner of The Apprentice - Inspire Aspire Talk 5 Dec 2018
Tim Campbell M.B.E visited our Year 12 and 13 Business A Level students on 05/12/2018. Some of the topics covered included:
Finance, financial institutions, profit and loss (including the potential impact of Brexit) all linked to how to make a business successful
Students commented on how engaging they found the session with regular opportunities for audience participation including game play.
The life lesson ‘no matter what happens in life, you can still be successful’ which Tim offered resonated highly with many of the students who were impressed with his willingness to share his life experiences namely; the impact of being raised in a single parent family by a strong mother, his experience of the education system and how this motivated him to build businesses and achieve his goals.
Students were able to apply Tim’s advice of focusing hard in school in order to realise their potential. His sailor analogy - of there being bumps along the road to the pathway to success offers a strong motivational focus for working hard, being resilient and being responsible for one’s actions, which reflects our school values.
Tim was also kind enough to stay and conduct a C.V. workshop focusing on: interview technique; how to impress potential employers; entrepreneurial skills and the importance of gaining valuable work experience.
