Bank of America - Inspire Aspire Visit 10 Jun 19

Inspiring the Future ran a Compliance and Risk Speed networking event at the Bank of America with 18 of our female GCSE and A Level/BTEC Business Students.

The first activity - the trading game ice breaker which featured volunteer employees from the Bank of America was thoroughly engaging.

The session then broke into a personalised speed networking session with Compliance and Risk volunteers talking about themselves, how they got into their careers; their degrees and experiences of working in the banking industry. We are very grateful for the time which each volunteer gave up to essentially speak on a 1 to 1 basis with each student and answer their questions.

Our students were so enthused and wrote lots of notes about the different career options available to them and the relevant qualifications they might need.

The session ended with Maame, who offered an engaging speech about her life journey from Ghana to working and being the face of Bank of America. Maame inspired our students with her discussion of the importance of embracing and celebrating equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace.

We are also very proud of our extremely eloquent ‘A Level’ Business Student Nicole Clark who was selected by the organiser to thank all the Bank of America volunteers on behalf of our school.

Big Thanks goes out to Mr Emanuel and Ms Wallace for enabling the trip to go ahead.
