Waltham Forest  Borough Athletic Championships 2023

After many Mondays and Tuesdays full of sweat, tears and some people being sick, our athletes had trained their way to the Borough Championships!!

Each athlete had to attend a 'Heats night' in which they had to run, jump, throw and relay in order to qualify for Fridays illustrious finals day!

This is no small feet as 16 schools send their best athletes to compete in a multitude of events ranging from 100m sprints to throwing a javelin. Each being a specific discipline that requires it's own set of skills and many many hours of practice.

Our students were exemplary and performed with the utmost pride and enthusiasm. Getting to the finals is a great achievement and each one of them should be very proud.

We had many stand out performances but as a school we brought back an amazing 15 medals in total.  We as a department are very proud of what we managed to achieve.

Next year we hope to increase our team size by involving more students in every year group and hopefully bring home the overall title of Borough Champions!
