Faraday Challenge Winners 8 Feb 23

Eleven Year 8 students took part in the IET Faraday Challenge at Trinity School. In two teams they took part in an engineering challenge to design and build a prototype related to the future of flight to connect people, deliver goods and provide services. Our two teams did brilliantly with one team winning the overall prize on the day.

Congratulations to the winning team:

  • Elisa
  • Adam
  • Ben
  • Adem
  • Ada
  • Aryeshah

What is engineering?

The application of knowledge and creativity to the needs of humanity.

We can’t give away too many details as other schools will be doing the same challenge, but our students worked fantastically in their teams. The day included:

  • coming up with an idea
  • assigning roles including project manager and accountant
  • completing an “apprenticeship” in building circuits
  • designing, building and testing their prototype
  • completing “paperwork”
  • presenting to the other groups

Well done to all students involved and thank you to Mrs Bijle for organising the day and Ms Oduyingbo & Mr Barker for accompanying the students.
