Waltham Forest Battle of the Bands - WINNERS 2023!!!

On Wednesday 14th June two of our amazing bands took part in this year's Waltham Forest Battle of the Bands Competition at Leyton 6^th Form.

Both bands were professional throughout the evening and gave outstanding performances - a real credit to Highams Park School. They competed against 10 other bands from Waltham Forest Schools including: Walthamstow School for Girls, George Mitchell, Walthamstow Academy, Frederick Bremmer and Forest. The competition was judged by three professional musicians and enjoyed by a packed audience.

Our first band was DNA, our year 9 girls, performing You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse. An incredibly mature performance from five brilliant musicians who received feedback on their high level of musicianship and performance skills.

Our second band was Mind The Gap, a mixture of year 11 and year 8 students who performed their own original song Work It Out. Not only were these guys praised for their musical skills but also for their creativity and skill in songwriting. It was for these reasons that Mind The Gap were pronounced the Battle of the Band ⭐⭐ WINNERS 2023!! ⭐⭐
