London Graduate Fashion Week Visit 3 Jun 19

The year 10 Textiles students spent an exciting day at London Graduate Fashion Week. The visit started with a glimpse into the world of fashion and textiles after GCSE’s with a wide variety of universities there showing the courses they offer.

The highlight of the day was watching a catwalk show of 12 students work from Bath University. It was a great atmosphere with different music for each student’s collections, the collections were varying from Neon Party, elegant evening wear and a black and white collection. The most unusual was a knitwear collection with chunky knits over sized that draped on the floor.

One collection had a ‘Naomi Campbell’ moment with a tricky pair of heels. The rest of the day was spent looking at graduate's portfolios, talking to them about their work and talking to other potential employers. The students all gained inspiration for their own portfolio which they start this week and the knowledge of where a career in fashion and textiles might take them.
