Well done to our Sixth Form School Leavers! A Level and BTEC results 13 August 2020

In this particularly strange and challenging situation where 6th form students have been deprived of their opportunity to sit their exams, we are especially keen to reward the resilience of our students and to celebrate their many successes.

In a record year for Oxbridge entry at Highams Park, three of our students have gained places to study at the UK’s most prestigious institutions:

  • Eleanor Sandeman’s outstanding performance in Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics resulted in her offer from the University of Oxford being upgraded to a Masters course on the publication of results.
  • Scarlett King’s superb outcomes, in the same subjects as Eleanor, mean that she has earned a place on the Mathematics undergraduate course at Oxford.
  • Siena Crossley, who will be studying Classics and French having achieved 4 superb grades in her A-levels.

Further STEM success across a large section of our cohort sees Highams Park students taking up places on some of the country’s most competitive courses:

  • Anna Mear and David Nguyen have been accepted to the University of Bath to study Biology and Computer Science respectively.
  •  Vanessa Lam will remain in London to read Financial Mathematics at LSE.
  • Liam Brockway will study Biology at Leeds.
  • Wiktoria Guz is off to Southampton to do Mechanical Engineering.
  • Manchester university will welcome Anthony Rodney onto to their Theoretical Physics course.
  • Daniel Browne is taking up a place at Loughborough to study Natural Sciences.

We are also immensely proud of the successes of students who are  are motivated to follow courses that serve others:

  • Faye Charambolous and Emma Grassi are both going to study Nursing at Nottingham and City Universities respectively.
  • Laura Daniels will take up a place to study Midwifery at the University of East Anglia.
  • Joel Aggus and Amy Darnborough have both been accepted to St Mary’s Twickenham Joel to study Sports Rehabilitation and Amy to do Primary Education.

The commitment of these, and many more of our students, to follow a vocation is a most admirable trait, often missed in our young people.

Congratulatory Messages:

“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with this year group of students, to see their progress over the last seven years. Despite the challenging conditions of the last five months, today must be about celebrating their success. Whilst the collective excitement of results day has been absent, students must take great pride in their individual achievements and hopefully the brief and selected highlights here give everyone a glimpse just how diverse and rich the achievements of Highams Park students have been.” Highams Park School Principal Phil Grundy

“The progress that our students have made over their time with us has, once again, been truly outstanding. Well done to each and every student, you are well equipped academically and in character for your next steps beyond the school. We are very proud of you.” Head of 6th Form, Mrs Stephens

Well done to our wonderful students for your excellent achievements during this unprecedented time.
