Iain Duncan Smith Visit - 10 March 2023

The Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP for Chingford and Woodford Green participated in a Q&A session with our Year 12 and 13 Business, Economics, Government & Politics and Sociology students on 10/03/2023. Some of the topics covered included:

Mr Duncan Smith's views on:

• The immigration and refugee crisis.
• His modern slavery reforms to tackle abuses around the world in particular Uyghur citizens and the rise in China's power.
• How to tackle increasing crime levels in the UK
• The conflict in Ukraine.
• The rise in the SNP's support for independence
• MP's use of money when using taxpayer money.
• Discussion on current and past governments particularly Boris Johnson Covid allegations and Thatcher as leader.
• Voting systems - proportional representation
• What is the best forum to present political views (other than Question Time)?
• Working to help support the disability into work
