Excellent student achievement in Drama for Deen Cassim
Year 8 student Deen took part in the Bronze Arts Award for Young People age 11-19.
The award was sponsored by Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture and required Deen to do approximately 40 hours of guided activities and create his own portfolio of his chosen 'Art' - to which he chose Drama.
The Bronze Award is a national level 1 qualification equivalent to Grades D to G GCSE’s and is used as a contributory UCAS points.
During this half term Deen was chosen and invited to a portfolio review by an external examiner where he was also asked questions about his experience and work.
Not only did Deen Pass but his work was singled out as being the best portfolio that was submitted.
Deen has made both his family and everyone at Highams Park School proud. This achievement aptly demonstrates his determination in persuing his passion in his own time. He attends an external drama school where his tutor has been so supportive and has also recently took part in the School's production of 'Fame'.
Deen is also an extremely enthusiastic and competent Digital Leader for the school.
Well done Deen. We wish you every success in securing your silver award in Drama.
